About Blackfords Footcare
Hi, my name is Joanne, owner of Blackfords Footcare.
Blackfords Footcare was established in 2024 to be able to offer quality and accessible footcare in my local area.
I found as a carer that there was a shortage of mobile footcare services within the region that could offer a personalised treatment package with a relaxed, friendly service in your own home.
This led me on my educational path to train, become qualified, and share this service to the district.
Education:
I am a current BSc (Hons) Podiatry Student at Wolverhampton University, having completed two out of my four years towards my degree to be registered as a Podiatrist. This currently means that I have a recognised equivalency qualification as a Foot Health Care Practitioner Diploma Level 4, allowing me to practice independently.
I am also a member of the Royal College of Podiatry and as such I complete many additional training modules to ensure that the skills that I learn and practice are not only current but are also approved and tested.
In addition to this I have completed both my emergency first aid and British Life Support training, as well as holding a TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions, TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Dementia Care and TQUK Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of the Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings.
I have strong links to the local NHS trust Podiatry services and will recommend a referral if needed to issues that fall outside of my scope of practice to ensure that you receive the best care possible.
